More than 50 mayors of foreign cities, as well as representatives of government and business authorities, participants and guests of the VI International Municipal BRICS Forum visited SberCity innovation district in Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye, west of Moscow. During the visit, the IMBRICS delegates could get acquainted with advanced technologies for designing and building smart cities, which were presented by the Forum’s strategic partner.
According to Andrey Likhachev, CEO of JSC SZ Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye, the SberCity project has attracted great interest from representatives of various countries. Particular attention was paid to smart home technologies, energy solutions and the introduction of green technologies, which is crucial in the context of international efforts to preserve the environment. Representatives from a number of countries expressed their desire to implement similar projects in their countries.
Among the visitors to SberCity were mayors and authorities from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Haiti, Guinea, Kenya, Nepal and South Africa. The guests were particularly interested in the energy modelling used in the design of the facilities. This tool makes it possible to obtain real thermal, electrical and cooling loads and determine their impact on the environment. Participants also noted the possibilities for monitoring and controlling construction through the introduction of BIM technologies.
As part of the Forum, JSC SZ Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye held a session entitled “Smart cities – horizons of the future. What needs to change to live better lives”, where the prospects of smart city development and implementation of innovative solutions were discussed. During the session, participants expressed their opinions on the key elements of a smart city, the most popular of which were 'a city with a zero energy balance', 'smart devices in the housing and utilities sector' and 'intelligent public safety systems'.
The VI International Municipal BRICS Forum was held on August 27-28, 2024, at the Expocentre Fairgrounds. The event became one of the largest international platforms for discussing issues of municipal cooperation, digitalisation, sustainable development and introduction of innovations in city management.
